Steers Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
Sedona pitcher Cooper Gee did his part in helping his team beat the Mesa Saguaros, 1-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The save was credited to Dan Kendall, his 7th. Sedona now has a record of 25-19 with the win.

The Saguaros had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Steers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old second baseman Schuyler Frith came to the plate. Frith hit a solo home run on a 2-0 fastball from Mesa hurler Allen Odom. It was Frith's 9th home run of the year.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Sedona manager Nate Winegar said.
