Glendale registered a win at Maryvale Baseball Park by beating the Mesa Saguaros, 5-4. Pitcher Leo Leija was one reason why the Gauchos triumphed. Joseph Perigo sewed up the save, his 5th. With the win over Mesa, the Gauchos improved to 15-24.

Glendale took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Jesse Connell hit a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Gauchos.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Connell told the Glendale Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
