The Glendale Gauchos picked up a win at Maryvale Baseball Park, taking down the Gilbert Geckos, 3-1, in 10 innings. On the mound for Glendale was left-hander Daniel Westerdale. He played a central role in the triumph. Glendale pitcher Florencio Cabanes earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Henry Scott suffered the loss. By defeating Gilbert, the first-place Gauchos improved to 28-14.

Glendale got a knockout punch from Myron Tolan. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Gauchos manager Tony Coto. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
