Milwaukee Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
The New York Yankees got a strong performance from pitcher Rob Long, who stymied the Milwaukee offense en route to a win, 3-0, at Yankee Stadium. Long, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Garret Adams finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Stephen Kenon, who is tied for 3rd in the EAST in bases on balls with 14, chipped in for New York with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Long said.
The Yankees, now 10-21, have not found much traction so far in 2051.
