Tempe Diablo Stadium was the site for Arizona Rookie League action featuring the Yuma Gnomes and Flagstaff Blue Devils.

The Flagstaff Blue Devils racked up a win at Tempe Diablo Stadium, bumping off the Yuma Gnomes, 5-0. Kent Ely, who started for Flagstaff, pitched effectively for his team. Flagstaff, at 23-15, occupies third place in the Arizona Rookie League North Division.

It could have been a different outcome for Flagstaff, had it not been for Montes Matias, the 20-year old catcher . Matias contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Flagstaff up, 1-0.

Matias attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
