The Glendale Gauchos picked up a win at Maryvale Baseball Park, courtesy of Mattie Shelby. The right-hander helped his team stop the Gilbert Geckos, 3-2. Shelby yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-2. Michael Havel was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.
Kyle Dillow came through for Glendale with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. The right fielder went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
