Chiefs Earn 6-1 Win Versus Billings
|
Thanks in large part to right fielder Malcolm Ketchum Jr., the Cheyenne Chiefs beat the Billings Mustangs, 6-1. Ketchum Jr. was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Joël Proulx. His record now stands at 5-0. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits for the Chiefs. After today's action, Cheyenne sits at 23-30; Billings slips to 20-33.
With Cheyenne leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Ketchum Jr. hit a cutter from Roger Miller for a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 4-0.
