Harvey Shines in 11-5 Medicine Hat Win
|
The Medicine Hat Stampede defeated the Bluefield Blue Jays, 11-5. Doing his part was catcher Dwayne Harvey, who was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Garey Griffin picked up the save, his 2nd. With the victory, the Stampede record now stands at 42-20.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for T.J. Shattuck? The Medicine Hat shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stampede on top, 2-0. For the game, Shattuck had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Shattuck said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
