Raptors Win, Now 37-23
|
Jonathan Whetsell never let Medicine Hat get something going. The Ogden right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Raptors to a 6-1 win. In 5.2 innings, Whetsell surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Ogden upped its record to 37-23.
Sherwin Hills dealt the Stampede a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Ogden leading 3-0, Hills, who is tied for 10th in the PIO in triples with 2, hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I like our moxie," said Raptors manager Matt Gissler.
