The Cheyenne Chiefs topped the Burlington Sock Puppets, 8-2, at Brent Brown Ballpark. Cheyenne designated hitter Matt Hager was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Tommy Hart was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The setback makes Burlington 19-29.
With Cheyenne leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Hager hit a sinker from Justin Shiflet for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 5-1.
