Black Diamonds Earn 1-0 Win Versus Stampede
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Lethbridge Black Diamonds and the Medicine Hat Stampede. Lethbridge won it, 1-0. Lethbridge starter Sherell Wright was in command. Reliever Uriel Burgos picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Scott Austin took the loss. The Black Diamonds sit in 7th place in the Pioneer League North Division with a record of 28-31.
Paul Pennington was the walk-off hero for Lethbridge. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Black Diamonds designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Wright said.
