The Blue Ridge Bulldogs handed the Danville Braves a loss at American Legion Field. The final score was 4-1. Major production was provided by Martin Melendez for Blue Ridge. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. He also added 1 walk. The win gives Blue Ridge a season record of 37-22.
With Blue Ridge leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Melendez hit a fastball from Asher Clark for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Bulldogs ahead, 4-0.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Melendez told the Blue Ridge Herald.
