The Bluefield Blue Jays picked up a win at Bowen Field, knocking off the Reidsville Red Sox, 6-2. Starting pitcher Mitchell Sauers played a key role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Bracey Dula. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Blue Jays are now 27-32, while the Red Sox fall to 14-45.

Chase Atkins drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Bluefield. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Adrián Cevallos. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Bluefield manager Jason Norton.
