Riding the 2-hit performance of the 21-year old right fielder John Kurz, the Bluefield Blue Jays stopped the River City Rumblers, 6-2. The winner was Kolten Jolley, who threw 85 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits. At 26-30, the Blue Jays find themselves in 6th place in the Appalachian League East Division.

Bluefield took a 6-1 lead on Kurz's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Ian Tholen in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Bluefield to the win.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Kurz told the Bluefield Times.
