Giants Use Late Rally to Win
The performance of David Spurlock proved critical in helping San Francisco beat Cincinnati, 9-5, in 11 innings. The Giants third baseman was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jonah Hopkins picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Randy Castriotta suffered the loss. Early on, the Giants, at 24-6, have excelled.

Tim Reeves came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said Spurlock.
