Pioneers Take Home 3-2 Win Over Missoula
|
The Pocatello Pioneers locked up a win at Ballpark of Pocatello, knocking off the Missoula Osprey, 3-2. On the mound for Pocatello was right-hander Reuben Duvall. He played a major role in the triumph. The save was credited to Mel Cepeda, his 4th. At 9-27, the Pioneers claim last place in the Pioneer League South Division.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from right fielder Pogey Rosario. For the game, Rosario went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Pocatello a 3-2 lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Missoula manager Dave Velez. "But we decided not to take it."
