The Delco Jawns had to overcome a big game from Lethbridge shortstop Jimmy Boy Gillyard to leave H.P. Hunnicutt Field with a victory. And they did, winning 8-5. Gillyard went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win belongs to Derrell Hughes in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Vinny Pikevsky took the loss for Lethbridge. Earl Mortimer finished the game for Delco and earned his 10th save.

In the bottom of the sixth, Delco designated hitter Blake Raeber put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Lethbridge pitcher Vinny Pikevsky served it up. Just like that, the Jawns were ahead, 6-4.

"It was a solid team effort," said Raeber after the game.

The 8th-place Black Diamonds have dropped 4 straight games.
