Pioneers Get Clutch Win, 6-5
|
The Pocatello Pioneers beat the Butte Americans, 6-5, with major props going to right fielder Juan Petermann. On the day, Petermann went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pioneers. Jack Dawson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-4. The triumph makes Pocatello 7-28.
The Pioneers got a big boost from shortstop Michael Thompson who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Americans hurler Noah Carson. It was his 14th RBI of the season and put Pocatello on top, 1-0.
Thompson told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
