Chukars Dealt 3-1 Loss
|
Lethbridge pitcher Tristram Thiele had a large part in his team beating the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Thiele got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Mancelo Jarquin, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Lethbridge used a clutch at-bat from Israel Talavera to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Diamonds ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Tough loss," said Idaho Falls manager Owen Lanier. "But we'll learn from it."
Lethbridge is third in the Pioneer League North Division with a record of 16-13.
