Stampede Losers, 7-5, Versus Moose Jaw
|
The Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs withstood an impressive performance by Medicine Hat center fielder Steve Stevens to defeat the Stampede, 7-5, at Ballpark of Medicine Hat. Stevens was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Kelsey Tripp, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-1. Moose Jaw bumps their record to 10-14 with the win.
Moose Jaw used a well-timed hit by Woodrow Whatley to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Diamond Dogs ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Whatley.
