Sock Puppets Need Extra Innings to Top Raptors, 2-0
|
Burlington went toe-to-toe with Ogden before a winner was decided.
In a low-scoring game between Burlington and Ogden, Juan Jones was fantastic. The Sock Puppets left-hander helped his team beat the Raptors, 2-0, in 17 innings. Burlington reliever Geoff Fan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Atworth Garrett took the loss. Jack Raucher earned the save for Burlington, his 1st of the year.
Tristian Eakright had a key at-bat in the top of the 17th. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a single. It helped send Burlington to the win.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Ogden manager Lee Lohman.
Yes, it was a win for Burlington; but their 5-10 mark is nothing to crow about.
