Nickerson Now 3-1 After Subduing Red Sox

Detroit and Boston got after it at Comerica Park.
The Detroit Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox, 6-1, at Comerica Park. Starting pitcher Tommy Nickerson was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The win takes Detroit to 13-16.
Nickerson lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The Detroit right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the EAST in wins with 3, is now 3-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Nickerson said after the game.
