Erwin Gets 1-0 Win Versus Fayetteville in 13
|
The Erwin Mountaineers had to weather a strong performance from Fayetteville pitcher Peyton Monroe before claiming a 1-0 win in 13 innings. Monroe went 7.2 innings and allowed no runs. Erwin pitcher Jorge Cadena earned the win, hiking his record to 4-0. Lucas Burke suffered the loss. At 38-32, the Mountaineers find themselves in 4th place in the Appalachian League West Division.
The Mountaineers got a clutch hit from right fielder Julianillo Ibañez. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mountaineers.
"That was a good baseball game," said Ibañez.
