Fayetteville Stopped, 3-0, by Erwin
|
Tim Kurokawa pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Fayetteville Frogs, despite Kurokawa's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Erwin Mountaineers at Ballpark of Edmonton. Augusto León picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Tim Kurokawa was tagged with the loss. The save went to Herman Marin, his 5th this season.
Daniel Albers had a big solo home run for the Mountaineers in the bottom of the third inning. With Erwin leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Tim Kurokawa and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Mountaineers on top, 2-0.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Albers.
The Mountaineers saw their win-loss record go to 44-24. At the same time, the Frogs fell to 33-35.
