Mountaineers Stymie Fayetteville, Take 6-0 Win
|
The Erwin Mountaineers beat the Fayetteville Frogs at Ballpark of Edmonton. The final score was 6-0, in favor of Erwin. Ken Isenberg led the way, going 3-for-3 for the home team. Erwin reliever Ric McManus picked up the win, upping his record to 2-6. Santiago Guerrero absorbed the loss. Picking up the save was Ruggero Donati, his 1st.
Erwin catcher Cam White contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Mountaineers ahead, 2-0.
White attributed the win to his team's "determination."
The third-place Mountaineers now have a record of 40-27.
