Ballpark of Blue Ridge was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Blue Ridge Bulldogs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Kayden Kosek, who muffled the Lethbridge offense en route to a tight 2-1 Bulldogs win at Ballpark of Blue Ridge. Kosek went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-2. Charlie Penney earned the save, his 8th.
Martin Melendez took Quinn Parks deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Bulldogs on top, 2-1. In all, Melendez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Kosek told the Blue Ridge Herald.
Blue Ridge is now riding a 3-game win streak.
