Rumblers Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
|
In a tight contest at Ballpark of River City, the River City Rumblers edged the Blue Ridge Bulldogs by the score of 5-4. River City left fielder Norberto Chavez, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The save went to Yoandy Jiménez, his 10th this season. River City, at 31-38, occupies 6th place in the Appalachian League West Division.
Chavez had a timely hit for River City in the bottom of the eighth. With River City trailing 4-2, he turned a 1-1 cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 5-4, River City.
"We found a way to get it done," Chavez said.
