Blue Ridge picked up a win at Ballpark of Blue Ridge, bumping off the River City Rumblers, 5-2. Pitcher Ryan Williams was a major reason the Bulldogs emerged victorious. Andy Sharpe nailed down his 10th save. The first-place Bulldogs have a record of 47-21.

Blue Ridge took a 5-2 lead on Nelson Olejar's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Olejar hit in the bottom of the eighth, left River City pitcher Cris Vazquez visibly frustrated.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Olejar told the Blue Ridge Citizen.
