Chiefs Beat Blue Jays, 4-2
|
The Cheyenne Chiefs got a stellar performance from pitcher R.J. Chapman, who handcuffed the Bluefield offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Bowen Field. Cheyenne is now 21-13, Bluefield 15-19.
Tony Newton had a critical at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for Cheyenne. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Cheyenne in front, 4-2.
After the game, Cheyenne manager Mike Marois applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
