Mets Claw Out 2-0 Win
|
Bylent Claus was nothing short of phenomenal for the Kingsport Mets. The 20-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Kinston Indians, 2-0. Purvis Chigozie got the save, the 12th for him this season. With the win, the Mets improved to 39-31.
The Mets got a big at-bat from left fielder Carlton Orta. For the game, Orta went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Kingsport a 2-0 lead.
"Bylent's a trooper," said Kingsport manager Blake Nelson. "He always gives it all he's got."
