E.J. De La Rosa pitched a gem to lead Kingsport to victory over the Kinston Indians, 8-1. De La Rosa got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Kingsport is now 37-31.

Alajandro Abreu had a big grand slam home run for the Mets in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Kingsport leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a circle change from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Brian Herman and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 8-1.

"E.J. pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Kingsport manager Blake Nelson.
