The Kinston Indians beat the Raleigh Cubs, 2-0, at Ballpark of Kinston. Starting pitcher Alfredo Olmedo was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Kinston is 7th in the Appalachian League East Division with a record of 31-33.

Though he did not get the decision, Olmedo did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 7.1 innings, until Kinston eventually rallied past the Cubs.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Olmedo.
