Rumblers Stumble Again, Lose, 9-1
|
The Hampton Orioles outclassed the River City Rumblers, 9-1, at Hampton Stadium. Wallace Soto, who is tied for 9th in the APP with a .873 OPS, was a major contributor for Hampton. Soto was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Hampton is sailing along at 46-17.
Early in the game, Soto had a 3-run home run for Hampton. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Orioles on top, 4-1.
River City manager Sawyer Damon said: "Over the course of the season, you're going to have little ruts where you're not getting the breaks and when you're not playing well. This is one of them."
