Twins Take Home 2-1 Win Over Delco
|
The Delco Jawns got a superb performance from pitcher Andy Shankman. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Elizabethton. The Twins won the game, 2-1. Shankman threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Owen Martnez earned the win. Andy Shankman took the loss for Delco. The first-place Twins have a one-game lead in their division.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Twins had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when second baseman Kevin Cavicchi hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Andy Shankman and made the score 2-1, Twins. Cavicchi was 2-3 with 2 singles.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Cavicchi said.
