Frogs Deal Blue Jays 7-3 Setback
|
Fayetteville Frogs starter Jesús Galante pitched well against the Bluefield Blue Jays at Bowen Field, leading his team to a win, 7-3. Galante yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-2. Jim Johnson picked up the save for Fayetteville, his 2nd of the year.
The Frogs benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With Grayson Ash at bat and Fayetteville leading 1-0, the Bluefield miscue allowed Fayetteville to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Galante. "Just do my job."
Fayetteville has a record of 44-22, placing them first in the Appalachian League East Division.
