Mountaineers Squelch Indians Offense in Shutout Win
|
Herman Marin brought his A-game to help Erwin defeat the Kinston Indians, 4-0. Kurt Paugh earned the save for Erwin, his 5th of the year. The 8th-place Indians dropped to 22-40.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fourth inning, but Marin was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Kinston trailing 1-0, Marin retired José Arciga, who struck out.
