Pulaski Stymied by Erwin, 2-1
|
The Pulaski Yankees wasted an impressive 5.1-inning effort from starter Steve Van den Bossche, falling, 2-1, to the Erwin Mountaineers at Ballpark of Edmonton. Erwin is 6th in the Appalachian League West Division with a record of 29-33.
The Mountaineers got a big at-bat from left fielder Gabriel Del Castillo. For the game, Del Castillo went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Erwin a 1-0 lead.
"Runs were tough to come by," said Del Castillo. "But we scored just enough to win."
