The Kinston Indians used a top-flight performance from Ian Moore, the 3rd overall pick in the 2058 draft, to beat the Erwin Mountaineers, 1-0, in 11 innings. Rich Baxter earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 1-2. Justin Sauer recorded the save for Kinston, his 1st of the season.

Kent DePierro had a direct impact on the outcome. DePierro contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Kinston up, 1-0.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Indians manager Jonathan Lazaro.
