The Welch Miners topped the Blue Ridge Bulldogs, 7-0, in Appalachian League action at Ballpark of Blue Ridge. The game was highlighted by the performance of Welch pitcher Julian De Kock. Emiliano Martínez earned the save for Welch, his 1st of the year. Welch is now 22-37, Blue Ridge 43-16.

In the top of the fifth, Welch center fielder Sam Harris had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Harris stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Welch. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said De Kock.
