Yankees Turn Back Kingsport, 3-1
|
The Pulaski Yankees took Kingsport pitcher Jock Pike's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hunter Wright Stadium. The final score had Pulaski getting past the Mets, 3-1. Pike went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Karl Ivey was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jaden Wagner. Pulaski has won 4 consecutive games.
Austin DuBose delivered a big hit for Pulaski. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yankees ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said DuBose.
