Jawns Earn 4-3 Win Versus Blue Jays
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Myles Plumber into a win. Instead, the Delco Jawns prevailed, 4-3. Plumber threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Yadier Veras recorded the save, his 12th. The Jawns, at 38-24, sit in second place in the Appalachian League East Division.
Delco needed the clutch hitting of Kendrick Schuler to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Jawns on top, 4-2. For the game, Schuler had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Schuler after the game.
