Yankees Dismiss Braves, 4-2
|
The Pulaski Yankees knocked off the Danville Braves, 4-2, in Appalachian League action at Calfee Park. Pulaski pitcher and Lincoln, Nebraska, native Jeremiah Jackson had an outstanding performance. The Appalachian League East Division-leading Yankees have a record of 42-19.
Gary Harder had a big 2-run double for the Yankees in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Pulaski leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Isidro Belmares and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 3-0.
"It's good to win," Jackson told the Pulaski Times. "I like to have fun doing it."
