Bluefield had no answer for Delco Jawns starter Vesto Sazo, who flummoxed Blue Jays hitters as the Jawns cruised to victory, 6-1. Sazo, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. Delco raised its record to 37-23 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Delco, had it not been for Joel Shelly, the 21-year old left fielder . Shelly contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Delco up, 5-1.
"Vesto doing his thing just hyped us all up," said Delco manager Nick Lucero.
