The Kinston Indians converted a terrific effort from starter Aiden Berry into a win over the Pulaski Yankees at Calfee Park. The Indians won the game by a final score of 2-1. Berry, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Kinston bumps their record to 33-25 with the win.
Had Pete Dickson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Dickson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Indians.
"Coming in, from the get-go, I knew my stuff was good," said Berry.
