Indians Fall to Blue Jays Late
|
Bluefield pitcher Kent Nordlie had a large part in his team subduing the Kinston Indians, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Yunier García recorded the save for Bluefield, his 6th of the season. The loss makes Kinston 24-34.
Bluefield used the timely hitting of J.J. Reta to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Kent kept his poise and got the job done," said Bluefield manager Aiden Niemann. "He was outstanding."
