Bulldogs Deal Burlington 3-0 Defeat
|
The Blue Ridge Bulldogs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Lance Park, who muffled the Burlington offense en route to a tight, 3-0 Bulldogs win at Ballpark of Blue Ridge. Jermain Shaw was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The Bulldogs saw their record improve to 30-25.
Geoff Yelin had a big solo home run for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Blue Ridge leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jesse Robinson and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Bulldogs on top, 2-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Mark Reed. "That was the problem."
