Brewers Earn 4-3 Win Versus Royals
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
Starting pitcher Fred Meyer pitched well enough to help the Helena Brewers beat the Burlington Royals, 4-3. The victory gives the Brewers a record of 15-12.
Helena used a clutch hit from Maximus Popik to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Meyer told the Helena Observer.
