Capoferri, Braves Wallop Mustangs, 10-2
|
With third baseman Max Capoferri leading the charge, the Danville Braves defeated the Billings Mustangs, 10-2, at American Legion Field. Capoferri was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Earning his 1st save of the year was T.J. Portillo. With the win over Billings, the Braves improved to 14-12.
The Braves got an important contribution from shortstop Juan Guzman, who in the bottom of the second punched a 2-2 changeup into left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Braves ahead, 4-0.
Billings manager Kyle Dodd called the blowout loss "ugly."
