6 Straight Wins for Frogs
|
Fayetteville Grounds was the site of a tense game between the Burlington Royals and Fayetteville Frogs.
In a tight tilt between Fayetteville and Burlington, pitcher Freddy Maes was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-2 Frogs win. Connor Cushman was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Marshall Batten. Nathaniel Tautkus, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
James Angel hit a run-scoring triple off Marshall Batten in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Frogs in front, 3-2. Angel had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"I feel like we're rolling now," Maes told the Fayetteville Times."The dugout is coming alive."
Their 28-23 record puts the Frogs 4th in the Appalachian League East Division.
