The River City Rumblers picked up a win at Ballpark of River City, courtesy of Burr Thompson. The right-hander helped his team stop the Bluefield Blue Jays, 2-0. Yoandy Jiménez closed the game out for River City, earning his 5th save. The 7th-place Rumblers improved to 19-30.

River City shortstop Bob Plourde contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the Rumblers ahead, 1-0.

"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Plourde told the River City Herald.
