Twins Take Down Blue Jays, 2-1
|
The Elizabethton Twins got a good effort from starter Corbin Holmes in defeating the Bluefield Blue Jays at Joe O'Brien Field. The final score was 2-1. Elizabethton now sits in 7th place in the Appalachian League West Division at 12-13.
Kolby Walton was the walk-off hero for Elizabethton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Bluefield manager Jason Norton.
